Working with Norman
Spraying is the job of applying liquid inputs to a field. The equipment carries the liquid and delivers it through the spray system as the platform moves through the working area.
On Norman, the spraying implement is part of the same modular platform used for other farming jobs. The field, crop, input and timing all matter when planning an operation. Talk to our team about the work you need done.

Seeding puts seed into the soil to establish a crop. Different seeds and crops call for different arrangements, so the implement and field setup need to match the job.
Seeding is one of the operation categories in Norman’s modular platform. Tell us about the crop and field you have in mind so the team can discuss the right setup.

Mowing cuts vegetation as part of field maintenance. The type of growth and the condition of the ground affect what equipment and working approach the job needs.
The mowing operation brings a cutting implement to the Norman platform. It is another way to use the same robot around the farm. Share a description of the vegetation and the area with our team to discuss the work.

Tillage works the soil as part of preparing a field. The required depth and finish depend on the ground, the crop, and the operation that follows.
Norman’s modular approach brings soil-working equipment to the same robotic platform. Planning starts with the actual field conditions and the task the farmer needs. Our team can discuss the implement and suitability for a particular job.

Farm work includes moving things: tools, supplies and other materials need to get from one place to another. Hauling pairs the platform with a trailer for transport around the farm.
The field photograph shows Norman with its cargo trailer. The route, ground conditions and load are all part of planning a hauling job. Tell us what you want to move and where it needs to go.

Working with Norman
Farmers know the jobs that take time, the tools they use, and what the conditions in their fields demand. Those conversations help us decide what to work on next.
Have an operation in mind? Describe the task, the crop, the field and how the work is done today. A request starts a conversation with the team; each new tool needs its own development and field work.

Farmers’ experiences help us understand what makes a tool useful in everyday work. We listen to how they describe the machine, what matters to them, and what they would like to see improve.
That feedback belongs alongside the engineering. It helps connect the work on the robot with the experience of the people using it.
Using this robot is like setting out to walk somewhere and suddenly, an airplane…

Farmer conversations
Our conversations with farmers start with the work: the jobs that need doing, how they are done today, and what people need from the equipment they use. The crop, the ground and the tools already available all give that conversation context.
Group discussions bring different experiences into the same conversation. Listening helps us understand which problems matter to farmers and where a tool could fit into their working day.

We have done this by hand
Before we built robots we farmed by hand. We cleared land with a hoe and sprayed with a knapsack on our backs, the same way most farmers around us still work today.
We know how hard that is. It wears you down and there is only so much ground you can cover in a day. Norman started as our answer to that.

Learning in the field
Field work makes feedback practical. Farmers and the team can look at the same machine, discuss the job it needs to do, and connect suggestions with the conditions around them.
Learning continues as the platform is used. The conversations around an operation help us understand what is useful, what needs attention, and what to bring back to the workshop.

The platform at work
Farm work brings together many different jobs. Moving tools and materials matters alongside preparing the soil, establishing a crop and looking after the field.
Norman’s modular approach connects those jobs through a common platform and different implements. The work itself guides the setup: what needs doing, where it needs doing, and the conditions the equipment will meet.
